Parasha Bamidbar - "In the Dessert" or "From 2 Words"

In the Torah

Torah: Parasha Bamidbar -Numbers Chapter 1 Verse 1 to Chapter 4 Verse 20

Haftara: Hosea Chapter 1 Verses 1 - 25

The essence - energy of Parasha Bamidbar

The essence of Parasha Bamidbar is the Protection Shield for the Desert which is the home of Satan. The meaning of the word Bamidbar is "desert". It can also be translated as "From 2 Words". In my opinion these words are Love and Awe as it applies to HaShem

Today as in the Desert 3300 years ago we receive this from our donation of the 1/2 shekel to the upkeep of the Temple which we do in the month of Adar preferably before the Holiday of Purim.

In Chapter 3 Verse 39 there are 6 dots over the word VeAaron. When we hear this verse we receive the energy of Aaron the High Priest. It is our connection to the Sefirah of Chesed which is needed to learn the essence of the mitzvah of VeAhavta Lerayacha Camocha - Love Your Neighbor As Yourself.

Commentary from 5777

This word translates usually as "in the desert". Two alternative translations are "from the word with" and "from the thing with".

One level of this parasha is to realize that the order of the Tribes marching in the desert is describing for all of humanity the order of the Zodiac.

Another level of understanding of this parasha is the numbers expressed from the census is telling us the number of stars in each astrological sign of the zodiac.

It also teaches us the meaning of the directions south north east and west in the spiritual frame of reference. South is Chesed - love; North is Gevurah - judgement; East is Tiferet - Mercy; West is Malchut - manifestation.

In short, the parasha has the inner essence of "awe of the Creator".

This last teaching is a paradox since the desert is the home of the negative system, as taught in the Kabbalah. What actually is the true meaning of this Kabbalistic teaching? Our physical world home, while an illusion, as part of this illusion, control of the world appears to be under the dominion of Satan. And only when we realize the truth of this statement can we resist this illusion and pierce the veil to see the trurth. What is that truth?

HaShem is always in control if only we try to pierce the veil!

Remember when you or i try something we are in the process. The goal is not what is important in this world - the process - the trying is what is the important aspect.

The number of Verses in this Parasha

There are 159 verses in this Parasha. In Hebrew Letters 159 is קנט. This word Kanet has the meaning of "contemptible". This is describing both energies of the Zodiac when used improperly to forcast a future; Also the idea of the desert being the Home of Satan, as taught in/by the Kabbalah. The Sages give us a code word for 159 and this parasha. This codeword is חלקיהו. This word translates as Chalek Yood Hai Wav. Yood Hai Wav is connected to the Name of HaShem. Chalek has many translations depending on the vowels used. These translations are smooth, bald, blank, glib, part of, part, fragment, share, portion, section, allotment. I will leave it to you to determine the meaning or meanings. In my opinion, the meaning is best expressed by the phrase "HaShem, on a spiritual levels, shares".
